LignoSat : The 1st Wood Satellite
Magnolia will likely be used to fabricate LignoSat, which is bucking to be the first wood satellite in space in a research project led by Kyoto University. Preliminary tests of three wood species subjected to the harsh vacuum of space for 10 months by the International Space Station found no decomposition or deformations.
