World’s 1st Bio-Based 3D Printed House

On November 21, the University of Maine Advanced Structures and Composites Center (ASCC) unveiled BioHome3D, the first 3D-printed house made entirely with bio-based materials. The 600-square-foot house, prototyped to help address the affordable housing crisis, features 3D-printed floors, walls, and roofs. Wall and roof insulation are also made from wood. Even floor tiles are made from recycled materials.
